Established
Celsius has more than 25 years’ experience of converting vehicles for various temperature-controlled applications, across sectors ranging from fresh and frozen food deliveries, to nationwide pharmaceutical distribution.
We specialise in designing and building bespoke conversions to meet a range of specific operational needs and have the capacity and production flexibility to supply fully finished fridge vans on short lead times.
Following significant investment in research and development – in partnership with Warwick University – we have developed a more sustainable approach to refrigerated vehicle conversions which virtually eliminates the use of wood and GRP from the conversion process and improves thermal performance and efficiency – perfect for the transition to zero emission electric vans.

The Future of Refrigerated Vehicle Insulation
Lightweight | Resilient | Recyclable | Sustainable

Leaders in the field of refrigerated conversion
Celsius converts vans from all the leading manufacturers into chillers, freezers or dual temperature vans. Over more than 25 years in the refrigerated transport sector, we’ve learned exactly what end users require from their fridge vans.
We convert all our vans in-house at our manufacturing base in Lancashire and we work in partnership with the van manufacturers and refrigeration experts to deliver optimum technological solutions.
We are also leaders in electric vehicles, low carbon refrigeration and sustainable insulation materials, and pioneers in the construction of future-proof refrigerated transport solutions for the 21st Century.
An innovative new approach
Our innovative new approach to refrigerated vehicle insulation was developed via a UK Government-funded research and design project in which we developed a lightweight insulation solution for a zero-emissions fridge van.
Working in partnership with engineers from the University of Warwick, control systems specialists from Siemens and a leading refrigeration engineering company, Celsius’ sister company CoolVan produced a zero-emissions electric fridge van for the delivery of fresh food into city centre hospitality venues in low emissions zones.
At the heart of this project was the requirement to push new boundaries to minimise demands on the battery to power both the vehicle and the refrigeration unit by using super-efficient insulation.

The road to Net Zero
Celsius was one of the first converters in the UK to produce a fully operational electric fridge van and is currently trialing more efficient insulation products and refrigeration systems.
We have invested heavily in research and development to accelerate the delivery of zero emission refrigerated vehicles to operate in urban environments where air quality is becoming a priority for local authorities.
Many of Celsius’ existing clients operate in the hospitality and food delivery sectors in the southeast of England where the charges of delivery into central London have increased significantly since the introduction of the Congestion Charge and the extension of the Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ).
